About Fascia

According to Cleveland Clinic, fascia is a sheath of stringy connective tissue that surrounds every part of your body. It provides support to your muscles, tendons, ligaments, tissues, organs, nerves, joints and bones. When your fascia is healthy, it’s flexible and stretches with you. When your fascia tightens up, it can restrict movement and cause painful health conditions.

By releasing the fascia, you untangle what is pinning in and restricting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints.  This reduces pain, increases mobility, and allows the body to more effectively heal itself.

I acknowledge that this beautiful area of Parrsboro is unceded, ancestral land of the Mi'kmaq People.  I recognize and honour the Mi'kmaq as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land, and I am grateful to live and work in Mi'kma'ki, the traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq.

As we practice and promote healing and well-being through massage therapy, we also commit to respect, understanding, and reconciliation with the Indigenous communities whose land we share.
